Travelog I || SoCal

This past weekend, Cooper and I went back to good ol' smoggy Los Angeles. My mom (Cooper's grandma) wanted us home because she doesn't get to see us very often. We try to go back about twice a year. If you didn't know, I grew up in LA where Chinatown was my backyard and DTLA was my skyline. During our time down south, Cooper and I hit up a few of our favorite places. We also briefly attended SoCal Corgi Beach Day and participated in a kissing booth to help benefit Queen's Best Stumpy Dog Rescue.

On our way back to San Francisco, Cooper and I took the scenic 101 route rather than driving through a barren wasteland that is the Interstate 5. The drive was beautiful with so many wildflowers along the coastline! I almost wanted to pull over and do a quick photoshoot but that would have been a very dangerous decision. Not gonna risk it for the biscuit

Our first stop was my Alma Mater's stomping ground: Isla Vista. Where is da Del Playa? I stopped by Poke Mee for lunch and ate it while playing fetch with Cooper at Estero Park. Before hitting the road again, Cooper and I walked down DP to enjoy the sunshine and salty sea air. It was pleasantly nostalgic.

The next stop was downtown San Luis Obispo (SLO) after driving for 2+ hours. Such a small city, or is it a town? This was our first time in SLO and I've always wanted to check out Bubblegum Alley. The gum covered alleyway had such a strong bubblegum odor! I was both equally fascinated and disgusted. Cooper thoroughly enjoyed himself around downtown and was smiling the entire time. Everyone was so friendly and Coops received plenty of head scratchies from nice strangers. After checking out the alley, Cooper pulled me into a pet store. My little smartass! I ended up getting him a $5 bullystick for the long road.

We made it back safely after a day of driving. Thanks for tuning in and reading!
